How to operate an aerator and scarifier?

Aerator and scarifier These are two devices that are incredibly useful in maintaining a healthy and beautiful lawn. Let's take a look at how to use them.

The NAC aerator aerates the soil by puncturing it, while the NAC scarifier clears the soil of weeds, moss, and old grass. Both devices are especially useful right after winter, when the lawn needs to be prepared for the coming warmer months. They can transform a dumping ground full of old leaves and rotten grass into a clean, pleasing-to-the-eyes plot that will soon be green again.
It's important to read the manufacturer's instructions before turning on the aerator. For best results, remember to work on dry grass, first removing any large stones and other debris. If the device is to be used continuously, it shouldn't be left on for longer than half an hour.

Operating the aerator

To use the aerator function, attach the wire roller to the machine, which will rake the grass and gently aerate the soil. This should be done with the machine turned off – only operate it in a clean work area, away from any flammable materials. Before switching it on, however, ensure that all components are properly secured, there are no loose parts, and the cables are not worn or broken. Keep the aerator out of the reach of children.
When starting the aerator, place the coil of cable near the device. Don't let it wind across the lawn, as it could trip or damage it by driving over it. When switching on the device, hold the top of the cable in the hand that isn't operating the device. Hold the aerator handle with both hands. Both hands must also be on the handle when operating the aerator.
After use, clean the device and ensure no damage has occurred before storing it. During the summer, it's best to use the aerator once or twice a season to ensure your lawn looks its best and maintains healthy growth conditions.

Scarifier operation

To use the device as an electric NAC scarifier, attach a roller with coarse blades to the device, following the instructions in the manual. These blades will cut the turf vertically, clearing the soil. You also need to install the basket by opening the back of the device. The basket is hung on special hooks. Models with permanently attached baskets are also available.
We can make our work easier by using the scarifier's various operating heights and settings, allowing us to gently rake grass, collect it, and clear the lawn of stones, sticks, and weeds, among other things. When raking, be careful of curbs – don't drive too close to them, and if you have to cross a sidewalk, turn the machine off.
Of course, we must remember – as with an aerator – to use the equipment after its prior inspection and initial lawn preparation. It's also worth cleaning the NAC scarifier after use and carefully inspecting its parts for wear.
